I always look forward to going to the RA Summer Exhibition. It's an opportunity to see a wide variety of work in various styles and materials. This year was no exception. In addition to the creations by the RAs and the fortunate few of the public who have their submissions accepted, I enjoyed seeing works by invited artists Gilbert & George and Anselm Keifer, although I don't always find their works appealing. There were so many artworks to enjoy, but I always have fun choosing my "best in room" and then nominate my own "best in show". This time, however, I found it hard to choose. Fortunately, the RA website (royalacademy.org.uk) now allows you to view all the pictures and sculptures online, so I'll have another opportunity to decide. You can also purchase online too - if your pockets are deep enough, that is.
Next visits - Georgia O'Keefe at Tate Modern and David Hockney at the RA.
