Ken Murray Art

Artist and Art Tutor in Bromley, Kent

About Me

KEN MURRAY Dip. A.D. B.A. Hons.

I am an art tutor of wide experience. I studied art and design at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design in the 60s.

My early career was as a graphic designer and typographic designer before moving on to teaching art and design in secondary schools within the Bromley borough. During that time I also I taught adult evening classes in painting and drawing for the Bromley Adult Education College for 11 years.

Since 1997 I have been teaching adults painting and drawing. I find hugely rewarding in being able to develop the skills of a novice to those of a thoroughly competent artist proud of the work they have created.

I am also interested in the history of art and the interpretation of painting and have given art lectures to several societies in the area from time to time.

I am married but have no children. My hobbies include golf, theatre, and of course visiting art exhibitions.

My Art

I am particularly interested in landscape painting and industrial legacy. I use acrylics for my large paintings as they are quick drying and use watercolour pencils for small sketches. I have used oils in the past.

A one-man show of my work has been exhibited at the Churchill Theatre foyer and my work is represented in several private collections.
